Academy duo Ovie Ejaria and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been selected to start against Tottenham – and fans have hailed the young pair on Twitter.
The youngsters come into Jurgen Klopp’s side, as the German manager looks to give his fringe players and prospects a chance in the EFL Cup.
The club announced the team sheet on their official Twitter page ahead of the clash, which includes 11 changes from Saturday evening’s 2-1 victory over West Brom.

Ejaria, 19, made a 77 minute substitute appearance in the last round against Derby, which marked his debut for the club following an impressive pre-season.
Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold, 18, has never featured for the Reds senior team and will be looking to put in an impressive performance against a team which are so far unbeaten in the Premier League.
It is set to be a close encounter with just one point and two places separating the two sides in England’s top flight.
