Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Karius display v West Ham

By Emma Sanders

Liverpool fans reacted with frustration on Twitter after Loris Karius produced another poor performance during this team’s 2-2 draw with West Ham.

The Reds took the lead through Adam Lallana after just four minutes but Dimitri Payet leveled shortly afterwards through a free-kick.

Karius got a hand to the ball but he was slow to move across the goal and was unable to keep out the effort, encouraging further criticism for the keeper.

The 23-year-old joined Liverpool in the summer from Mainz and has been preferred to Simon Mignolet as the number one choice for Jurgen Klopp.

However, he has produced a number of costly mistakes and was in the headlines last Sunday after his fumble led to Bournemouth’s late winner in the 4-3 defeat.

Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have been just two of the high-profile names to send criticism his way but it seems Liverpool fans are becoming increasingly impatient.

Mignolet has featured just five times in all competitions since September but calls for his return to the starting line-up are growing as Liverpool’s defensive woes continue.

The draw means Liverpool remain in third position but are now six points behind Chelsea following the Blues’ 1-0 victory against West Brom.

Liverpool still have an important fixture against Manchester City to play before the end of the year as the title race continues to heat up.
