Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Mane AFCON elimination

By Harvey Byrne

Sadio Mane will be returning from the African Cup of Nations after Senegal were dumped out of the competition on Saturday evening, and Liverpool fans on Twitter are ecstatic.

The 24-year-old has missed seven matches for the Reds, last playing at the beginning of January in a 2-2 draw against Sunderland where he scored.

The club have seemingly missed the summer signing and Jurgen Klopp’s side have endured a terrible run with one win, four losses and two draws coming from the fixtures without Mane.

While Liverpool were struggling he was helping his country reach the AFCON quarter-final stages, but a penalty loss on Saturday after a 0-0 draw will mean that he will soon be on his way back to Merseyside.

Reds fans on social media have expressed their delight on social media and many are keen to see him return to the side as quickly as possible.

Liverpool’s next match comes as soon as Tuesday, where they will face league leaders Chelsea in a top of the table clash.

Fans will be eager to see Mane back in their team for the encounter, but there is no time frame for when the player will return as of yet.
