'Agent Aspas', 'your time is now' - Liverpool fans react amusingly to Manchester United semi-final draw

By Russell Edge

Liverpool fans have flooded on to Twitter to show their support for former forward Iago Aspas after his Celta Vigo side were drawn against the Reds’ rivals Manchester United in the Europa League semi-finals.

Aspas, who joined Celta Vigo from Sevilla in 2015 after leaving Liverpool, struggled at Anfield and ended up behind the likes of Phillipe Coutinho, Luiz Suarez, Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge in the pecking order.

He managed to make just 15 appearances for the Reds, scoring a solitary goal against Oldham in the FA Cup before joining Sevilla on a loan deal, with an agreement to a permanent move.

However, he has found his feet, and his goal scoring boots, since returning to Celta Vigo, where he had progressed through the youth ranks before joining Liverpool, and has enjoyed a productive season in front of goal.

In 43 appearances for the North Western Spanish side, Aspas has scored 23 goals, including five in the Europa League to fire his side to the semi-finals of the competition.
