Liverpool striker Daniel Sturrdige could be heading to Inter Milan on loan, according to a report.
Sky Sports Italy report that the out of favour striker is a target for the Italian club, who are seeking players desperate for regular playing time ahead of the World Cup.
Sturridge has failed to secure regular football under Jurgen Klopp, and has only started five games for the Reds this season.
The 28-year-old has widely been linked with a move away from Anfield this January, and does not appear to be in Klopp’s long term plans at Liverpool.
Sturridge has had success at the Merseyside club, scoring 63 goals in his four year stint, however the England international’s form has dropped – only finding the net three times this term.
Should a deal be struck between the two clubs, Sturridge will team up with the red hot Mauro Icardi, who has scored 18 this season.
Football Insider verdict:
Sturridge will not want to miss the World Cup this year, but it is clear that his chances of making the squad have been diminshed by the lack of regular football. A move to Italy could be what the striker needs to find a bit of confidence in his game, and linking up with the 18-goal-sensation Icardi could bring out the best in him. Klopp has made it clear that Sturridge is not in his plans by entertaining the idea of sending him away, so finding a manager who believes in his abilities is key, if Sturridge is to rekindle his promising career.
