Liverpool have rejected an offer from Italian club Napoli for defender Alberto Moreno, according to a report.
Sky Sports claimed on their transfer centre blog on Monday (12:37pm) that the Reds have turned down an £11million bid from the Serie A club.
It is understood that the Merseyside giants believe the 24-year-old is worth £15million and will not let him go unless their valuation is met.
The report details that La Liga side Sevilla and two unnamed Premier League teams are also keen on signing the Spaniard this summer.
Moreno moved to Anfield in 2014 for £12million from Spanish club Sevilla and has racked up 109 appearances for Liverpool.
However, the left-back endured a frustrating time last season and lost his position in the starting line-up.
German manager Jurgen Klopp dropped the full-back from the starting XI and preferred make-shift left-back James Milner during the campaign.
Moreno was restricted to just 18 appearances across all competitions, completing 90 minutes in just two of his 12 Premier League matches.
The three-time capped Spain international is most recognised for his attack exploits on the left flank, but has been heavily criticised for his defensive frailties.
Football Insider verdict:
Moreno has been unable to convince fans during his time at Liverpool and is too vulnerable defensively. The left-back is much better going forward and doesn’t have the temperament to be a top-class full-back. The Reds are not willing to budge on their £15million asking price and that is understandable for a 24-year-old that still has time to improve. Klopp does have a major issue on his hands during the summer window and bringing in two new left-backs would be ideal. Milner did an adequate job there last season, but they need a natural full-back to help them compete for silverware. They have been mentioned around the likes of Andrew Robertson and Ben Chilwell in the past, but should be going for top calibre player now they are back in the Champions League.
In other Liverpool transfer news, they are hoping to re-enter talks with a 23-year-old midfielder.
