Liverpool have sealed 'bargain signing' as Luis Diaz transfer claim issued - pundit
Liverpool have pulled off a “bargain signing” in Luis Diaz after his immediate impact at Anfield, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, heralded the 25-year-old’s game-changing abilities after the 3-2 win over Villareal.
With Liverpool 2-0 down, the Colombia international came on at half time and scored the Reds’ second on the way to victory.
Diaz also made a telling contribution from the bench in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Everton last month.
As revealed by Football Insider in February, the Merseyside giants to paid £37.5million, with £12.5million agreed in add-ons, to sign him from Porto.
Whelan insisted it could turn out to be excellent value for money.

“I think the introduction of Diaz was spot on,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“He’s great to watch. He gets you off the edge of the seat, doesn’t he? It’s fantastic, his flair, his work rate, he’s fitted straight into that Liverpool style of play.
“It looks like he’s been there for five years, not just a couple of months. He links up really well with the front three and complements them and vice versa.
“He’s got that pace, that ability to go past people, an eye for a goal which we saw and the assists are there for him.
“You’re talking about bargain signings, he’s going to be a real bargain signing for Liverpool for what they’ve got.”
Diaz has now scored four goals ans contributed three assists in 20 appearances for the Reds.
He is contracted at Anfield until 2027.
