Liverpool have been installed as the overwhelming favourites to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have priced the Merseyside giants at 6/4 to sign Draxler, 23, before the September transfer deadline.
Fellow Premier League giants Arsenal trail behind the Merseysiders at odds of 9/1, while Manchester United are priced in third at 16/1.
The odds have been slashed on Liverpool landing the 35-times Germany international after they were priced at 4/1 to pull off what would be a sensational deal earlier this week.
It follows on from PSG bringing in Neymar in a world record deal from Barcelona, which has reportedly thrown into doubt the futures of his new attacking colleagues.
Draxler, who made the switch to PSG from Wolfsburg as recently as January and plays in the same position as the Brazilian, would seemingly fit into that criteria.
Liverpool themselves were also linked with a move for the Germany international seven months ago and the Times claimed that they were set to rival PSG for his signature.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side could now have the former bright prospect back in their sights with the future of current star Philippe Coutinho’s in serious doubt amid sustained interest from Barcelona.
Since his move to France Draxler has bagged an impressive 10 goals in 25 appearances after netting 30 times in 170 appearances at former club Schalke.
In other Liverpool transfer news, this Reds attacker has sealed an exit from the club.
