Three threats Liverpool need to guard against v Plymouth

Liverpool face Plymouth in an FA Cup third round replay on Wednesday after settling for a disappointing 0-0 draw in the first encounter at Anfield.
Football Insider has chosen three players who performed well for the League Two outfit in the last outing – and these are just a few of the players Liverpool need to be aware of if they’re to avoid a potential banana skin.
Plymouth’s centre-back produced an excellent display alongside Yann Songo’o in the first encounter and he is considered one of the club’s key players. He made more clearances and blocks than any other player on the pitch and he was responsible for keeping Ben Woodburn and Divock Origi quiet for the majority of the game – and Roberto Firmino when he came on for the last 15 minutes. The Reds will need to find a way to get past him this time around.

He was a little sloppy when it came to making the final decisions against Liverpool but he has pace and he caused Trent Alexander-Arnold a few problems down the left wing. Plymouth are likely to set-up in a defensive manner yet again and he could prove to be a threat on the counter-attack.
Fox was one of the reasons why Plymouth’s midfield held solid against the Reds and he made Emre Can look extremely sluggish by harassing him and not giving him time on the ball. He had a quiet first half but as the game went on his confidence grew and he’ll likely go into the replay with more assurance now he knows what to expect.
