Liverpool news: Pundit makes ‘big’ Jurgen Klopp claim after confirmed exit news

Alan Hutton has insisted Liverpool will back Jurgen Klopp with a “big” budget this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said the Reds will stick with Klopp for the foreseeable future.

The Merseysiders are currently eighth in the Premier League and have won just two of their last five games.

The Reds are ten points off fourth placed Man United and a Champions League spot for next season.

As quoted by The Athletic (4 April), Klopp acknowledged that he was responsible for his side underachieving and referred to himself as the “last man standing” given how many managers have lost their jobs this season.

The German also noted that his achievements of the past are keeping him in his job but said that he doesn’t like to rely on that.

When asked if sticking with Klopp will pay off for the Reds, Hutton told Football Insider:I think if he gets the funds in the summer to go and transform the team.

He will know that, everybody will know that they need investment within the playing squad.

It has not been the best season for them, it has been very up and down but I think when you have periods like this, it takes time. You have off-seasons.

Of course they will stick with him. He is a great manager, he gets the best out of every single player, it has just not quite worked this year.

It is a big summer for them coming up, I think they will have to heavily re-invest and I think they will. They will support the manager after everything he has done for the club.
