Liverpool news: Pundit rubbishes Gary Neville title claim amid ‘huge’ verdict

Manchester City are in pole position to win the Premier League title as Liverpool have the harder run-in, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted fixtures against Everton and Man United will be difficult for Jurgen Klopp’s side despite both side’s lack of form.

Manchester City maintained their one point advantage over Liverpool after a 2-2 draw between the two at the Etihad on Sunday.

Speaking on Sky Sports (10 April), ex-Man United defender Gary Neville claimed Pep Guardiola’s side have more difficult fixtures than the Reds.

Neville pointed to Everton and Man United as easy fixtures for Liverpool, even though they are derbies.

When asked if Gary Neville was right in his assessment, Campbell told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “No chance.

“They are not easy games. Everyone said Man United would rinse Everton and Everton beat them 1-0.

“You cannot overlook teams who are fighting for their lives. They are some of the most dangerous teams.

“Man United going to Anfield is always a huge game. They will want revenge after what happened at Old Trafford. Do you think they will not turn up with a determination to try and get something? Come on.

“I understand where Gary is going with it but I don’t agree.”

Man City have Brighton, Watford, Leeds United, Newcastle, West Ham, Aston Villa and Wolves still to play.

Liverpool’s remaining fixtures see them face Man United, Everton, Newcastle, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Southampton and Wolves.
