Liverpool news: Whelan issues ‘remarkable’ Jurgen Klopp claim
Noel Whelan has hailed Jurgen Klopp’s “remarkable” transformation of Liverpool after he lifted the FA Cup for the first time on Saturday (14 May).
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested “many more titles are on the way” in the wake of the 54-year-old’s recent contract extension.
Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties to lift the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday to add the famous trophy to Klopp’s Reds resume – which also includes triumphs in the Champions League, Premier League, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup.
The only other manager to win those six trophies with an English club is former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Klopp endured two painful European final defeats in 2016 and 2018 .
However, he bounced back to lift the Champions League in 2019 – his first trophy on Merseyside.
Whelan hailed the German for building a “really dominant side” and fostering an “amazing” dressing room atmosphere.
“What Klopp has done at that football club is remarkable,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“When he came in it was immediately clear that he had an immense amount of love and passion. That has been a massive driving force in helping Liverpool blossom again.
“He’s adored by the fans and the players. The chemistry he’s managed to create in that dressing room is amazing.
“He’s built a really dominant side. They’ve ticked every single box under Klopp in a very short space of time.
“They will only get bigger, better, and stronger with him as manager.

“That’s why they were so desperate to give him a new contract.
“I’m sure there are many more titles on the way.”
