Liverpool player ratings v Man United: Tireless midfielder impresses in 7/10 display

COMMENT By Harvey Byrne

Football Insider rates the Liverpool players after their 1-1 draw against Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Simon Mignolet 7 – Proved why he is the club’s number one again. The Belgian pulled off some excellent saves before being beaten through no fault of his own.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 6 – Was caught out at time by the more experienced Anthony Martial. However, he will only get better and overall it was a solid display from the youngster

Dejan Logren 6 – Had an indifferent match and better is expected of the Croatian at this stage in his career.

Ragnar Klavan 5 – The centre-back looked out of his depth in the Reds’ back four and was all at sea for the goal.

James Milner 7 – The experienced man stepped up to the penalty spot to slot home the opening goal. An assured display from the converted left-back going forwards and in defence.

Emre Can 6 – Worked well for his side in the centre of the park and gave a highly energised display.

Jordan Henderson 6  – The central midfielder was composed everytime he received the ball and helped Liverpool to maintain possession over the 90 minutes.

Georginio Wijnaldum 7 – The midfielder was given the task of nullifying the threat of Pogba and did it excellently in a tireless display.

Adam Lallana 5 – Showed the technical ability everyone knows he has with some neat touches, but they ultimately came to nothing for the Reds.

Divock Origi 7 – The striker was fairly isolated up the pitch, but when he did get on the ball he caused problems with his pace to the United back four before being brought off.

Roberto Firmino 5 – The Brazilian attacker worked tirelessly up the pitch, but little came from him in terms of quality delivery.
