Liverpool reach agreement to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili – sources
Liverpool have an agreement in principle to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili from Spanish club Valencia, sources have told Football Insider.
The Merseysiders have offered an initial £25.6m plus £4.3m in add-ons to sign the 23-year-old Georgia international.
It is also looking increasingly likely the goalkeeper will stay on loan Valencia for the rest of the season as part of the deal.
There have been negotiations about a season-long move to Bournemouth but it is believed that the Euro 2024 star would prefer to stay in Spain for another year.
Mamardashvili will be Liverpool’s first senior signing of the post-Jurgen Klopp era as they seek to challenge Arsenal and Manchester City for the Premier League title.
Giorgi Mamardashvili set to swap Spain for Liverpool
The Georgian goalkeeper had a breakout season last campaign for Valencia, featuring 37 times and earning 14 clean sheets in the process.
Mamardashvili was integral for his country in Euro 2024, the first major international tournament in the nation’s history.

Georgia qualified from Group F following some impressive results, including a 2-0 victory over Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal before being knocked out in the round of 16 by eventual winners Spain.
With Alisson now 31 years old, Liverpool regard Mamardashvili as one of the world’s most exciting goalkeeping prospects.
In other news, Liverpool have been “besieged” with loan offers for Stefan Bajcetic.
