Liverpool are set to pursue Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic, according to a report
The Daily Mail states that the USA international was the subject of an £11million bid from Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer.
The 17-year-old stayed put during the transfer window but it is understood that Liverpool and a number of other clubs are set to pursue their interest in the attacking midfielder over the coming months.
The player also revealed that he was a fan of a Premier League team when he was growing up, although not the one Reds fans would have hoped for.
Talking to ESPN, as quoted in The Daily Mail, Pulisic said, “I was a big Manchester United fan when I was younger, so I loved to watch Wayne Rooney.

“I wouldn’t say I’m a similar player, though. I think his passion for the game is something you don’t see much in players. That’s what I loved about him”
He also admitted to hearing about the interest in him this summer but insists it won’t distract him from his work at Dortmund.
“I hear about it. I have social media. Obviously I’m not completely closed to the world.
“But I don’t let it affect me or how I’m playing at the time. The whole time throughout I was just focused on training every day.
“It’s a huge club with a lot of good players, so I’m just fighting for my position in the team.”
The American player came to Dortmund in January 2015 when Klopp was in charge and it would appear that the German manager is keen for a reunion with the bright prospect.
The youngster has two years left on his contract at the Bundesliga side and Liverpool may be able to pick him up at a cut-price in future windows if he doesn’t extend his contract past 2018.
He’s already been capped seven times for the USA senior national team and has played for the Dortmund first team 12 times scoring two goals.
In other Liverpool transfer news, Jurgen Klopp was sending scouts to watch Germany Under-21 midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud play in the match against Finland on Tuesday.
