Liverpool tipped to sign Kylian Mbappe on loan after source’s reveal – pundit
Frank McAvennie has suggested Liverpool may attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe on loan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said that if the Reds are struggling to get a deal for Jude Bellingham over the line, there is no chance they will be able to sign Mbappe.
On 22 February, Football Insider revealed that Jurgen Klopp’s side are continuing to monitor the situation of long-term target Mbappe amid doubts over his long-term future at Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old revealed in May 2022 that he spoke to the Anfield club about a potential move before choosing to pledge his long-term future to PSG until 2025.
Bellingham, 19, is a top target for the Merseysiders ahead of the summer window but could cost well in excess of £100million to take him away from Borussia Dortmund.
McAvennie insisted a move for Mbappe is incredibly unlikely.
“If they can’t afford Bellingham then they can’t afford Mbappe,” he told Football Insider.

“That is not going to happen. There has been a lot of talk that he did not get on with Messi and Neymar but every time I look at them the three of them seem to like each other.
“If there is problems getting Bellingham to Liverpool then Mbappe is not going to happen. May be they could try and get him on loan to see if he could do it in the Premier League. It would be sensational if they could.”
In other news, according to sources, Liverpool eye N’Golo Kante as talks reach advanced stage.
