Liverpool tipped to sign Robert Lewandowski after ‘huge’ development – pundit
Robert Lewandowski could replace Mohamed Salah if Liverpool decide to cash in on their star man this summer.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Salah’s future.
According to The Athletic‘s James Pearce (1 June), Salah, 29, will leave Liverpool in the summer of 2023 unless he receives a “significantly improved” contract offer.

As quoted by BBC Sport (30 May) Lewandowski, 33, claimed “my story with Bayern is over” despite having 12 months remaining on his current deal.
The Poland striker scored 35 goals in 34 Bundesliga games during the recently-concluded season and McAvennie claims he could replace Salah if he leaves this summer.
“If Salah goes, who do you bring in? It’s better for him to go now so Liverpool can get some money for him,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“That’s easier than him going for nothing next summer. Then it is who do you bring in?
“Lewandowski? He’s a fair age now isn’t he?
“He probably has another couple of years in him and Klopp will know him well.
“He would be magnificent, huge. It’s a bit of dodgy one, all of this stuff with Mane as well.”

Salah scored 23 goals in the recently-concluded Premier League season.
He scored a further eight goals in the Champions League as he reached a third European final with under the management of Jurgen Klopp.
In other news, one pundit coaims Man United could now sign Mohamed Salah after a ‘bizarre’ Liverpool update.
