Nathaniel Clyne 7 – Kept Ryan Bertrand and Nathan Redmond quiet down the right flank, while also linking up well with Sadio Mane in attack.

Dejan Lovren 8 – Closed down the majority of Southampton’s attacks and helped to ensure a clean sheet for his team.

James Milner 6 – The versatile former England international put in another consistent performance at left-back, without doing anything extraordinary.
Georginio Wijnaldum 6 – Gave a commanding display in the centre of the pitch and hardly put a foot wrong over the 90 minutes.
Jordan Henderson 6 – The Liverpool captain was composed in midfield and helped start a number of Liverpool’s attacks.
Emre Can 6 – Did his job with diligence before being brought off for Daniel Sturridge in the second half.
Sadio Mane 7 – Looked to cause problems for his former side and brought a good save out of Fraser Forster in the first half.
Roberto Firmino 5 – Hardly featured in the game and was unable to get the better of Jose Fonte or Virgil van Dijk.
Philippe Coutinho 4 – Most of Liverpool’s chances fell to the Brazil international, who was very wasteful and scuffed the best chance of the match when through on goal.
Daniel Sturridge (for Emre Can 78 mins) 5
Divock Origi (for Sadio Mane 90 mins) 5
In other Liverpool news, this in-form star must be given a new contract amid interest in a move away from Anfield.
