Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister reacts to Alejandro Garnacho’s Man United message
Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has reacted to Man United forward Alejandro Garnacho’s announcement on social media.
The Argentine winger has featured more heavily in recent games, following a period out of the team at the beginning of Ruben Amorim’s reign.
Garnacho was linked with a move to Chelsea in January, but remained at United despite the interest from their Premier League rivals.
United ran out 2-1 victors against Leicester on Friday (7 February) in the FA Cup fourth round.
Bobby Reid opened the scoring for the Foxes at Old Trafford, connecting on the rebound of a saved Wilfred Ndidi effort.
In the 68th minute, Garnacho picked out Rasmus Hojlund, who’s shot was blocked in the box, with Joshua Zirkzee in the right place to connect to the rebound and level the scores.
Harry Maguire would be the hero on the night, scoring a header in the 93rd minute, but with no VAR in action until the FA Cup fifth round, it was a controversial goal as Maguire appeared to be offside when he scored Man United’s winner.
Alejandro Garnacho stars as Man United beat Leicester
Despite starting the match on the bench, Garnacho put in a stellar performance for the Red Devils after being brought on for debutant Patrick Dorgu at half-time.
The Argentine winger was named the player of the match, and posted a photo of himself posing with the award in the United dressing room on his Instagram.

His international teammate, Mac Allister, then liked the post, showing support for his young compatriot.
The post was also liked by Garnacho’s teammate Lisandro Martinez who injured his ACL against Crystal Palace.
Marcus Rashford departure gives Alejandro Garnacho chance under Ruben Amorim
Following Marcus Rashford’s Deadline Day move to Aston Villa, Garnacho now faces less competition for the starting spots behind the striker in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.
However, the former Atletico Madrid man will still face the tough task of beating out players like Bruno Fernandes and Amad, who are both in great form.
