Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez plan revealed after shock Arsenal news
Liverpool would prefer to sell Darwin Nunez this summer over Diogo Jota, sources have told Football Insider.
Jota, 28, is attracting shock interest from Arsenal – who are looking for a new primary striker ahead of the summer transfer window.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (10 February) that Liverpool are frustrated with the Portugal international’s injury record amid interest from the Gunners.
It is believed Jota could render himself unreliable for the Merseysiders should his struggles with injury continue.
Nunez sale preferred to Jota exit as Liverpool stance revealed
However, the club’s first instinct is to court offers for Uruguay international Nunez – who has struggled for goals much more than Jota at Anfield.
Liverpool chiefs are keeping a close eye on Jota’s fitness record after bouts of unavailability in recent seasons ahead of a final decision in the off-season.

Nunez, 25, has made 16 starts in 32 appearances under Arne Slot this season – scoring just six and adding five assists.
Meanwhile, Jota has scored eight goals and notched two assists despite starting in just 12 of 21 appearances.
Newcastle and Chelsea race to sign Liverpool star
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is being targeted by Newcastle United, Chelsea and overseas clubs ahead of the summer.
Kelleher, 26, will have just 12 months left on his Liverpool deal in June and is set to leave Anfield for good.
The Republic of Ireland international will push for a Liverpool exit in the off-season with a deal for Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili already wrapped up.
