'Living the dream' - Attacker raving in message to Gers fans as Ibrox deal confirmed

Rangers winger Jamie Murphy has sent a message to Gers fans after completing a permanent move to the Ibrox giants – and admitted he is “living the dream” signing for his boyhood heroes.

The former Brighton ace signed a three-year deal after spending the first-half of 2018 on loan at Ibrox and will now be part of Steven Gerrard’s plans for next season after swapping the south coast for the south side of Glasgow on a long-term basis.

Murphy scored five times and contributed ten assists in 19 appearances for the Ibrox giants during his loan spell and revealed that he was “delighted” to be spending the next three years with the Light Blues.

“Living the dream. Delighted to be a part of our great club for at least the next 3 years!” Murphy said on his personal Twitter account.

Murphy should prove to be a quality addition to the side after giving glimpses of what he is capable of during his initial loan spell with the Light Blues. Getting better players around him should help Murphy’s performances reach the next level and help the Gers take a step towards stopping Celtic winning an eighth successive Scottish title. The former Brighton man has the ability to rip up the Scottish Premiership and if Gerrard can get him consistently performing next term then he will be an absolutely massive player for the Light Blues. It helps that, unlike some of the other fans playing the club, Murphy’s actually got that extra something about him that he can take advantage of on the pitch and punish teams. At 28, Murphy is at the crucial point of his career where he is at his very best, in theory, and getting consistent games since moving north in January will be a big help in making sure the Light Blues have the player performing as he can.
