Loan watch: Everton academy product nets quick-fire double
By Dominic Toner
Everton forward Conor McAleny scored twice for Oxford at the weekend in a 3-0 victory over Millwall.
The 24-year-old completed a move to the League One club in January and has made a great impact.
He starred Saturday in an emphatic away win and added another two goals to his tally this season.
McAleny opened the scoring in just the sixth minute with a fantastic drive from 25 yards into the bottom corner.
The striker then double his side’s leads moments later in the ninth minute, netting another impressive striker as he skipped past a defender on the left wing and placed the ball into the far right corner.

He has made a big impact since his loan switch to Oxford and has scored 10 goals in 19 appearances across all competitions for them.
McAleny is a product of the Toffees academy and joined them as a youngster.
The forward has been unable to force his way into the first team and has made just three senior appearances.
However, he has had several loan spells in the football league and his current Oxford move is by far the best so far.
Everton do have a distinct lack of forward options in their squad and could be even further damager if Romelu Lukaku leaves Goodison Park in the summer.
Ronald Koeman has shown a desire to promote academy players into his side and Tom Davies has reaped the benefits of that, but 24-year-old McAleny would be a late bloomer if he follows the same path.
In other Everton news, Koeman has delivered a damning verdict after their draw against West Ham.
