By Dominic Toner

Loris Karius revealed his delight on Twitter after Liverpool recorded a comfortable victory over Stoke on Tuesday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side earned a 4-1 home victory in the Premier League and moved up to second in the table, but are six points behind leaders Chelsea.

Stoke took an early lead through Jon Walters, but Liverpool responded with strikes from Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and a Giannelli Imbula own goal

Karius was an unused substitute against Stoke and Klopp started Simon Mignolet in goal for a third consecutive league game.

The 23-year-old congratulated his team-mates after Tuesday’s win and has looked ahead to a pivotal game against Manchester City.

“Good job, boys, 4-1 home win and back on the 2nf place. Now full focus on the last match of the year against City,” Karius wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Liverpool host title rivals Man City on Saturday in the league and Mignolet is expected to maintain his place in goal, but was criticised by some supporters for his part in Walters’ headed goal.

Karius has endured a mixed start since he completed a move to Anfield in the summer and is currently restricted to the bench.

The German has made 11 appearances this season across all competitions, but was unable to cement his place as the number one goalkeeper after a few high profile mistakes.

The youngster is still expected to have a bright future with Liverpool in the future and may have to bide his time for another opportunity from Klopp.

In other Liverpool news, a Sky Sports pundit claims that this player is on par with Sergio Aguero.
