Lothar Matthaus: This is how Tottenham will fare in Champions League next season

Lothar Matthaus believes that Tottenham will be a much stronger outfit in the Champions League next season, highlighting the qualities of Dele Alli and Harry Kane as crucial.
The all-time Germany great has backed all five of the English clubs in next year’s Champions League to restore some pride to the nation in the European competition.
Chelsea, Spurs, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are in the competition, with the latter still needing to win a play-off to reach the group stages.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be looking for success in Europe after being dumped out of the Champions League group stage last year, before failing in the Europa League too.
The north London club finished second in the Premier League table to qualify and are continuing to improve each year.

Matthaus has backed Spurs to be better next year and picked out two potential match winners.
“Now Dele Alli knows what is needed to play at the highest level, and with Kane at his best, they will be much better than last season,” Matthaus told the Sun.
Alli has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe and the attacking midfielder has become a key figure for Spurs.
The 21-year-old made 50 appearances last season, scoring 20 goals and supplying 13 assists,
Meanwhile, his teammate Kane has also been in phenomenal form and developed into a prolific striker.
The 23-year-old scored a sensational 35 goals in just 38 games across all competitions.
