Rangers legend Peter Lovenkrads has congratulated the Light Blues development squad after they comprehensively beat Leicester City 6-0.
It was the Gers third win in a row which earned the plaudits of the former Danish forward who joined the club to coach the academy in May of last year and he wrote on Twitter, “Outstanding performance from the boys again today.”
Stephen Kelly opened the scoring in the 12th minute, while Glenn Middleton doubled the lead just before the interval.
But Zak Rudden was the star of the show with a second-half hattrick to blow away their opponents before Liam Burt capped off a fine victory for Rangers.
Outstanding performance from the boys again today! 🇬🇧 https://t.co/qys7N1y4ZK

The 38-year-old’s Tweet on social media led to calls from supporters to keep with the same squad going into this weekend’s Scottish Premiership match which will see the senior side head to Parkhead with the title within touching distance for Celtic.
Football Insider verdict:
It was a fabulous performance and victory for the side and it was unsurprising to see calls from supporters urging the club to go with some of the youngsters for the weekend’s title-deciding fixture against the Hoops. It’s highly unlikely that will happen given the opportunity the Light Blues have to get one over their city rivals who themselves will be gunning for a win that will nail the coffin in Rangers’ season.
