Lucas Digne sends message to Jacob Ramsey after what he did vs Tottenham

Lucas Digne sent Aston Villa teammate Jacob Ramsey a message after his role in their FA Cup victory against Tottenham.

Unai Emery’s side defeated Spurs 2-1 on Sunday (9 February) after goals from Ramsey and Morgan Rogers secured their spot in the fifth round of the competition.

Mathys Tel managed to score his first goal for Spurs in the 91st minute of the game, but that proved to be nothing more than a consolation.

The win was Villa’s second in their past six games across all competitions in what has been an inconsistent period for the club.

Emery was able to debut Marcus Rashford in the second half, as the Man United loanee showcased what he will offer Villa until the end of the season.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t all positive news for Villa as Ezri Konsa was forced off in the first half of the match due to injury.

Lucas Digne in no doubt about Aston Villa’s best player against Tottenham

Ramsey wasted no time making an impact against Spurs as he found the back of the net in the first minute of the game.

It wasn’t just Villa fans that the 23-year-old impressed though as Digne took to Instagram to call him “Starboy.”

Digne has been a regular in the Villa team throughout this campaign, with the FA Cup fixture being his 31st outing this season.

Jacob Ramsey continues to dazzle for Aston Villa

Ramsey has proven himself to be an important part of Villa’s squad this season, featuring 26 times in all competitions.

The left winger has scored three goals and provided four assists this season and remains under contract at Villa Park until 2027.

Villa will be back in action on Saturday (15 February) against Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
