Lukas Jutkiewicz offered new Birmingham City role
Lukas Jutkiewicz is being offered a new Birmingham City role following the end of his playing career, sources have told Football Insider.
Discussions have been held between the 36-year-old and City over coaching and recruitment positions at the St Andrew’s.
Jutkiewicz has announced his retirement with his contract expiring this summer, and will call time on a 19-year playing career.
The striker has made 356 appearances for the Blues over the past nine years, and scored twice in 25 games this season as they cruised to the League One title.
Chris Davies‘ side won the league with a record-breaking 111 points and are now preparing to return to the Championship where they will continue their ambitious plans.

Birmingham City eye Che Adams to replace Jutkiewicz
Jutkiewicz is believed to be keen to stay on at St Andrew’s, where he has spent the majority of his career.
A number of potential avenues have been discussed internally, and he is likely to be appointed into a new role during the off-season.
After Jutkiewicz’s retirement, Birmingham are aiming to sign a new striker to strengthen their attacking options ahead of their return to the Championship.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 30 April that Che Adams could make a sensational return from Torino, whom he joined from Southampton last summer.
It is believed they will offer the Scotland international a big-money contract to lure him from Serie A and plan to partner him with Jay Stansfield.

Chris Davies eyes Kwame Poku deal after Peterborough latest
Alongside Adams, Birmingham are aiming to continue in their ambitious recruitment plan by adding a number of new attackers to Davies’ side.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 17 April that Birmingham have opened talks to sign Kwame Poku from Peterborough United this summer.
The 23-year-old has rejected a club-record Peterborough contract and is set to leave when his current deal expires this summer.
However, they are not alone in their interest as Football Insider revealed in March that Rangers want to sign Poku and are hopeful of luring him north of the border.
