Maguire captaincy in question as four Man United stars named and shamed after bust-up – expert
Paul Robinson fears Harry Maguire “does not feel like the captain” of Man United amid growing dressing room unrest.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League goalkeeper name-checked Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba when speaking about the discontent at Old Trafford.
Luke Shaw told Sky Sports after Monday’s loss to Wolves that the players “weren’t all together on the pitch.”
A United source told Football Insider (1 January) that Ronaldo and Fernandes are at loggerheads in the dressing room with the latter struggling to deal with losing his status as the main man.
Robinson suggested Ralf Rangnick cannot inspire a turnaround on the pitch until dressing room issues are resolved.
“The dressing room should police itself,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“There should be characters and leaders in there who keep control.
“Too much has been said and too much has been talked about for that dressing to not not be right. Something is wrong.
“There is a lot of strong characters in there. The likes of Cavani, Ronaldo, Fernandes, Pogba and Maguire, who is the captain but probably does not feel like the captain right now. The other players in the dressing room are perhaps bigger names.

“To be a manager of a football team is tough but when you have problems in the dressing room it’s a very difficult job. These are multi-millionaires with big egos.
“The hardest thing of football management is man management. You put 23 blokes together in any situation, not everyone will get on with each other. You will not like anybody. It is about how that situation is managed.”
In other news, a pundit has claimed Man United fans ‘won’t be happy’ at latest star’s comments amid new controversy.
