Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny are back in full training ahead of the game against Liverpool.
The north London club will be relieved to have senior pair Ramsey and Koscielny available again for selection, while Liverpool have been dealt the blow that they must face two of Arsenal’s star players.
Wenger confirmed at his pre-match press conference that he welcomed back the two players from injury, as cited by the Daily Mirror’s blog (9:12am).
Liverpool host the Gunners on Saturday evening in the Premier League, with both sides competing for a spot in the top four.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will be looking to respond to the 3-1 defeat to Leicester in their last game and need to the three points to keep their pursuit of the Champions League places.
The Merseyside club did win the previous meeting 4-3 at the Emirates Stadium in the previous meeting on the opening day of the season.
Liverpool have endured a poor 2017 so far and will hope a win against Arsenal can kickstart their year.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will be boosted by their injury news and centre-back Koscielny is expected to slot straight back into the starting line-up.
He was injured in the crushing 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League and Wenger will be delighted to bring him back in.
Arsenal midfielder Ramsey is also back in contention and has not played since the 31 January.
The Wales international has been absent due to a calf injury and could come into the starting XI to provide some energy in the middle.
In other Liverpool news, they are eyeing a 22-year-old Bundesliga sensation.
