Man City 115 charges: Keith Wyness suggests ‘settlement’ being agreed
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed the appeal process in the 115 charges case at Man City could drag into 2026.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted he hopes “common sense can prevail” and a settlement can be reached when the outcome is announced.
Football Insider revealed on Thursday (21 November) Man City could have to wait until the end of March before a decision is published in their 115 charges case.
City were charged by the Premier League in February 2023 for allegedly breaching financial fair play (FFP) rules over a nine-year period between 2009 and 2018.
An independent commission hearing into the 115 charges started on 16 September in London and is due to end this week.
City have always vehemently denied any wrongdoing since the beginning of the process.
Wyness hoping for settlement in Man City 115 charges case
After lengthy appeals processes in the cases which saw Everton and Nottingham Forest deducted points last season, Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “Once the deliberations have been made public, and I imagine there will be a three or four-hundred-page document, there will likely be an appeal.
“There could also be a settlement, it all depends on the verdict reached. And I’m hoping common sense can prevail and that settlement can be reached to put an end to this.

“But if there is an appeal, it will go on just that much longer. We could be talking about the end of 2025 or even 2026.
“Let’s just wait and see how we go with the initial verdict and see if cool heads can prevail.”
