Man City fans have expressed their excitement after Erling Haaland’s contract announcement and insist they are “not guilty” over their 115 charges.
City were hit with 115 charges by the Premier League in February 2023 for allegedly breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules over a nine-year period between 2009 and 2018.

Despite this, fans have expressed jubilation following Haaland’s announcement of his new contract. The striker confirmed he has signed a mouthwatering nine-and-a-half-year deal with the club.
Many supporters now believe that he would not have committed to such a long-term contract if the club were truly guilty of the charges.
Man City fans are convinced the club are not guilty
City are expected to appeal any potential punishment, with their legal team firmly asserting that the club has done nothing wrong.
As these charges hang over them, speculation has grown about whether they’ve had an impact on the team’s performances this season. The Manchester club are currently sitting 12 points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Fans have expressed frustration over the club’s performances, with some even speculating that Pep Guardiola could leave. However, the mood has lifted somewhat after the announcement of Haaland’s nearly decade-long contract extension.
In addition, the club are also in advanced negotiations to sign Omar Marmoush from German side Eintracht Frankfurt. This has further fueled speculation that the club may not face the severe consequences some had feared.
