Man City hit by £20m+ blow after official documents filed
Manchester City’s finances took a dip last season after failing to win a major trophy throughout the campaign.
Man City have posted their 2024-25 accounts, revealing their revenue fell by £20.9million from a club-record £715m in 2023-24 to £694.1m.
Man City have enjoyed great commercial success in recent years, but their revenue in that department slipped from £344.7m to £340.3m.
Broadcast revenue at the Etihad Stadium fell from £294.7m to £278.6m, while matchday income dropped slightly from £75.6m to £75.1m.
Elsewhere, Pep Guardiola’s side recorded a £9.9m pre-tax loss last season, having made a £73.8m profit in the previous year.

Man City’s transfer spend revealed after signing spree
Man City finished third in the Premier League table last season, with Liverpool claiming the title.
Meanwhile, the Manchester giants lost to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final, ensuring Guardiola failed to win a trophy for just the second time in his reign at the Etihad.
Following the release of the club’s latest accounts, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: “I believe that we may look back on this year as one that was pivotal for the ongoing and long-term strengthening of the club.
“Our focus on continuous improvement did not diminish in any way, and the season saw everyone across the organisation remain committed to the ongoing evolution of Manchester City both on and off the pitch.”

While Man City have paid the highest wages in the Premier League over the past few years, their total dropped from £412.6m in 2023-24 to £408.4m last season.
Guardiola was backed in the transfer market despite his side’s struggles, with the club spending £352.9m on new signings across the campaign.
The 10-time English champions brought in £145m in players sales, but it meant their net spend was still over £200m.
Pep Guardiola could quit Man City after Premier League twist
Man City are looking to challenge for the Premier League title this season following a strong recent run of form.
Four league wins on the bounce have seen them close the gap on leaders Arsenal to just two points heading into the festive period.
There has been speculation Guardiola could leave Man City at the end of this season depending on how successful his side are over the coming months.

Man City beat Brentford 2-0 in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday (17 December) to set up a semi-final clash against holders Newcastle United, while they are well placed to reach the Champions League knock-out rounds.
Guardiola is now preparing his side to take on West Ham in the Premier League at the Etihad on Saturday (20 December).
