Man City issued ‘honest’ Marc Cucurella verdict by pundit after source’s reveal
Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Marc Cucurella amid interest from Man City in the Brighton defender.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker is unsurprised to hear of Pep Guardiola’s interest in the 23-year-old because he “loves intense football.”
Cucurella has been a revelation since arriving to the Amex Stadium from Getafe in August 2021.

The Premier League champions have identified the Spanish defender as the ideal fit for their left-back role.
As revealed by Football Insider sources (22 June), Man City have agreed personal terms with Cucurella.
However, a fee has not yet been agreed between the two clubs.
Cucurella has four years remaining on his contract with the Seagulls.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Cucurella, Campbell, who delivered weekly punditry for La Liga TV, said: “Cucurella is a really good player.
“I watched him for a few seasons and I was really impressed.
“When he went to Brighton I was interested to see how he would get on. He loves intense football. He has proved to be a real success at Brighton.
“I am not surprised to hear that Man City are interested in him, to be honest. It will be interesting to see if they get him.”

Cucurella was one of the Premier League’s best defenders in the 2021-22 campaign.
He contributed one goal and two assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
