Man City ace Jeremy Doku reacts to Rayan Cherki’s Club World Cup disappointment
Man City star Jeremy Doku has reacted to a message shared by Rayan Cherki after Pep Guardiola’s men were knocked out of the Club World Cup.
The North West giants suffered a shock 4-3 defeat to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal in their last 16 clash on Tuesday, 1 July.
Bernardo Silva, Erling Haaland, and Phil Foden all got themselves on the scoresheet for Guardiola’s men, but it wasn’t enough to get the better of Simone Inzaghi’s side.
Al Hilal’s reward for beating Man City is a quarter-final clash with Brazilian club Fluminense on Friday, 4 July.

Doku reacts as Cherki opens up on Man City disappointment
Cherki created an assist for Foden in Man City’s defeat against Al Hilal, but ultimately could not prevent Guardiola’s side from suffering an early Club World Cup exit.
Meanwhile, taking to Instagram on 1 July, the France international wrote: “Disappointed by the result but proud to be part of this team. We´ll come back stronger.”
The post attracted a like from Doku, who enjoyed a strong Club World Cup campaign, scoring two goals in three appearances.
Club World Cup experience will help Cherki flourish in the Premier League
Football Insider verdict
Cherki’s successful exploits for Lyon last campaign, in which he notched an impressive return of 12 goals and 20 assists for the now financially troubled French club, show that he is likely to succeed in the Premier League next term.

However, the 21-year-old still faces a difficult challenge as he looks to prove his worth in the English top flight, having only previously played in Ligue 1.
But thanks to Man City’s participation in the new Club World Cup format, Cherki has already settled into life with his new teammates, which will help to get the best out of him in next season’s Premier League.
Furthermore, the former Lyon man has already scored a goal and produced an assist in four appearances for Guardiola’s side.
If he can transfer that form over to the Premier League, there is no doubt that he will be a success at the Etihad Stadium next season.
