Man City news: Pundit issues 'animal' Erling Haaland claim after 'dressing room' reveal
Alan Hutton has insisted Erling Haaland will score “40 plus” goals for Man City this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said City got “an absolute steal” with the price they paid for Haaland.
Speaking to German outlet Sport Bild (8 September), Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl said the 22-year-old became a “burden in the dressing room” towards the end of his time at the German club.
Pep Guardiola’s side completed the signing of the striker in June in a deal worth £51million.
As revealed by OptaFranz (9 September), the Norway international has the best minutes-per-goal ratio in Champions League history.
Haaland sits top of the list with 61 minutes per goal.

Mario Gomez is second in the list with 102 minutes per goal.
Hutton insisted Haaland will break “record after record” at Man City.
“The guy’s an animal,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s built for the Premier League to be quite honest. His stature, he’s physical, huge, he doesn’t mind trying to roughen up defenders. He’s a goalscorer ultimately. He wants to score goals, he’s desperate for numbers and he’s always in the right place at the right time to sniff out a chance wherever it may be.
“That being said he can also play with a teammate. For what they paid for him I think it’s an absolute steal. I think he could go on to break record after record. His goal contributions at this moment in time are incredible and we’ve only just started. If he goes on this form, he could score 40 plus goals this season, he’s definitely capable of it.“
