Man City star Erling Haaland already ‘knows’ next club after contract reveal – pundit

Kevin Campbell expects Erling Haaland to only stay at Man City until the summer of 2026.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker suggested the 22-year-old has his sights set on a move to Real Madrid.

Haaland has taking the Premier League by storm since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.

As reported by the Daily Mail‘s Jack Vaughan (11 October), the centre-forward has a £175million release clause in his contract at the Etihad.

The clause will be available to trigger at the end of June 2024.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Haaland’s future after the latest update, Campbell said: “There is a shelf life for Haaland at Man City, that is one thing I would say.

“He is not going to be Man City’s striker for the next 10 years. They have got to maximise the time they have with him.

‘Let’s say he stays at Man City for four years, he will still be a young man then. The next stop will probably be Real Madrid. I think he knows that will be his next stop.

‘Will Pep Guardiola still be at City in four years? These are questions we have to ask ourselves.

‘Enjoy Haaland why he is there. City have to win the Champions League while Haaland is there.”

Haaland is the Premier League’s top scorer this season.

He has scored a staggering 15 goals in nine league appearances to date.

In other news, a pundit has claimed Joao Cancelo could push for an exit from Man City after an update from Spain.
