Man City tipped to agree £75m deal for ‘star of the future’
Manchester City have been backed to beat their Premier League rivals to the signing of a player with huge potential.
Pep Guardiola’s side have recovered from a poor start to the season and now sit just three points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League.
On Tuesday (21 October) evening, Man City beat Villarreal 2-0 in the Champions League to record their third win on the bounce.
However, despite a good run of results, the Manchester side are still being tipped to strengthen in the January transfer window.

Man City to beat Newcastle in race for Elliot Anderson
Man City have been linked with Elliot Anderson in recent weeks, joining the likes of Newcastle United in the race for the England international.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Anderson would rather complete a move to City than rejoin Newcastle.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Guardiola’s side would have to pay around £75million to lure the midfielder away from Nottingham Forest.
Wyness added that Anderson is a huge talent and someone who could become a real star in the future.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “There’s no doubt he is a talent, and I really like watching him. He’s really impressed me. I think he could be a star for England at the World Cup next year.
“I could see him going to City for £75m. Newcastle would love to have him back, and with Ross Wilson coming in from Forest, there may be a link there to try and get him back, and I know they’ll be trying.
“In my opinion, he may well be the player Newcastle need, so we’ll see. I think they’ll be in the race, but I think City would be the attraction for Anderson, and I think that’s where he may end up.
“It’s going to be an auction at £70m, £75m, £80m for Elliott Anderson, who is a real star for the future.”
Man City have midfielder issues
Rodri has been plagued by injuries at Man City, and the Spaniard is sidelined yet again at the moment.

Guardiola’s side have now been hit with new concerns, as Nico Gonzalez was forced off with an injury during City’s Champions League clash with Villarreal.
There is hope that the midfielder will be fit for the trip to Villa Park on Sunday (26 October), but recent events could force the club into the January transfer market.
