Kieran Maguire issues 'huge' Man City verdict as leaked document emerges - 'it's quite clear'
There will continue to be “huge interest” in alleged instances of financial irregularities at Man City for the foreseeable future.
So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest leaked documents released by Der Spiegel.
The German newspaper claims that City have violated multiple financial regulations in an investigation published yesterday (7 April).
Documents show that various club payments have been cleared by the Abu Dhabi state office, which would contravene Premier League rules.
City insist that there is no state collusion from Abu Dhabi and that Sheikh Mansour’s involvement in the clubs is a purely private investment.
But Maguire predicts that the interest in City’s controversial ownership model will rumble on for some time.

“It’s clear that City are going to continue to attract huge interest with regards to these historical issues,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“I think that the lines between the state office and City Football Group are sometimes blurred.
“There will, however, be emails that make things look worse and emails that make things look better.
“But I imagine most people’s viewpoint will be determined by which club it is they support.”
The Premier League leaders are also alleged to have bypassed financial fair play rules by artificially inflating their sponsorship revenue.
Payments to former City boss Roberto Mancini meanwhile are under investigation for the apparent use of outlawed parallel contracts.
