Man City would 'jump at the chance' to seal 'super' Bernardo Silva swap deal - La Liga expert
Man City “would jump at the chance” to swap Bernardo Silva for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong this summer.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the possibility of Pep Guardiola’s side signing De Jong, 25, to replace Fernandinho.
According to Mundo Deportivo (8 May), Barcelona are eyeing a move for Bernardo Silva as Xavi Hernandez looks to bolster his midfield in the next window.
The report suggests the Catalan giants would be willing to swap Frenkie de Jong for the Portugal international, who is said to want out of the Etihad.
Silva, 27, has three years remaining on his contract with City.
Campbell, who delivered weekly punditry for La Liga TV last season, claimed De Jong would be “a super player” for the Premier League champions.

“I tell you what, that deal how value in it for City,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs. “Big time.
“Fernandinho is not going to be there next season and De Jong would be the perfect replacement.
“De Jong is a super player, he really is. He is that player who can player anywhere in the midfield. He is so consistent.
“I think that could be one to watch this summer. Man City would jump at that. Don’t forget that Silva was close to leaving last summer. If a deal like that can be done, you are in business.”
