'Man of the season' - Fabio Cardoso lavishes high praise on Rangers team-mate
Rangers defender Fabio Cardoso has called Ibrox team-mate Daniel Candeias “man of the season” after his performance in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.
The wingers scored one and set another up as he won the sponsor’s man of the match at Ibrox and when the Light Blues acknowledged Candeias’ performance on the club’s official Twitter account, Cardoso weighed in with his own praise for his compatriot.
“Man of the season for me” Cardoso said on his personal Twitter account.

The 30-year-old has scored seven times and created a further 12 goals for his team-mates in a fantastic debut season for the Light Blues.
The former Benfica winger recently signed a new contract with the Gers to extend his stay at Ibrox until the summer of 2020.
Despite starting the campaign as a mainstay under Pedro Caixinha, Cardoso has fallen out of favour at Ibrox and has barely been seen in the first-team since Graeme Murty replaced Caixinha in October.

Football Insider verdict:
Candeias’ performances this season for the Gers mean he must be in the conversation for the player of the year awards when the time comes. The 30-year-old has been a fantastic signing for the Light Blues and has arguably been the biggest success story of the host of players Pedro Caixinha brought to the club last summer. With only a handful of games left in the season, the Gers will be hoping Candeias can finish the season strong. After years of being shipped out here, there and everywhere on loan it is clear Candeias is enjoying having some long-term security in his career.
In other Rangers news, Celtic are in the running to sign this former Light Blues player in a shock summer transfer.
