Man United big name is bad influence on Greenwood from what 'I'm hearing' - pundit

Alan Hutton has slammed Bruno Fernandes for being a bad role model for the likes of Mason Greenwood at Manchester United this season.

The former Scotland international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 27-year-old’s body language and lack of work rate are sending the wrong message to others at the club.

As revealed by Football Insider this month (1 January), Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo are at loggerheads in the Manchester United dressing room after failing to hit it off on the pitch.

An Old Trafford source told Football Insider the duo’s feud has led to disharmony among the dressing room.

Hutton admitted there has been “a lot of noise” out of the Man United camp this season.

He blasted Fernandes for his attitude on the pitch.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Obviously we’re not privy to what’s going on in the dressing room, but there is a lot of noise around Manchester United at the moment.

“It’s not good. I’m hearing about things behind the scenes and that the dressing room isn’t happy. The biggest thing for me, from the outside looking in, is the body language of some of the players.

“You can be going through a slump, which is fine, but you’re still tackling, you’re still running about the pitch.

“Bruno Fernandes for one, a fantastic player, been excellent since he’s come to the club.

“He’s throwing his hands up in the air, blaming other people. This is the guy that these youngsters, like Greenwood, would look towards to really help them moving forward.”

“He doesn’t seem to be doing that. It’s a real problem at the moment.”

Fernandes has scored five goals and contributed nine assists in 25 appearances this season.
