Man United captain Bruno Fernandes reacts to Leny Yoro after Ipswich scare
Man United captain Bruno Fernandes has responded to his teammate Leny Yoro on social media after the win over Ipswich.
The 19-year-old defender was substituted in the 90th minute of a frenetic 3-2 win over the Tractor Boys.
Jaden Philogene opened the scoring for Ipswich after a calamitous mix-up from Patrick Dorgu and Andre Onana, with the Cameroonian goalkeeper flying out to intercept a through-ball that was then tapped past him by the Danish defender.
United responded with Fernandes whipping in a free-kick, which Sam Morsy put into his own net in the 22nd minute.
Matthijs de Ligt then gave the Red Devils the lead, with the Dutch defender poking home after a frantic goalmouth scramble.
With United looking comfortable for the first time in the game, Dorgu launched into a tackle on Omari Hutchinson, planting his foot firmly on the winger’s shin, and receiving his marching orders from referee Darren England.
Alejandro Garnacho was taken off by Ruben Amorim, with the Portuguese manager looking to maintain his side’s defensive shape, and the Argentinean winger went straight down the tunnel, rather then joining his teammates on the bench.
Philogene then levelled for the Tractor Boys on the stroke of half-time, with Onana once again at fault, as Man United target Liam Delap failed to make contact with a cross, leading to an unintentional goal from the young winger.
Despite playing with 10 men for the majority of the match, United found a winner, with Harry Maguire scoring in the 47th minute, and then putting in a stout defensive performance.
Bruno Fernandes shines despite Man United poor season
Fernandes has been the glue holding together an appalling United team this season.
The Portuguese midfielder has missed just one match for the Red Devils this season, and despite playing under two different managers, the former Sporting CP man has performed at a consistently high level.

Following the win over Ipswich, Yoro posted a series of photos of himself in action, captioned: “RESILIENCE. Proud of the lads!”
United’s captain, Fernandes, then responded to the post, saying: “Zizzouuuu” with a fire emoji, praising the young French defender’s performance.
Man United’s desperate financial situation limits summer spending
Football Insider Verdict
Man United’s rivals are looking to buy-out clauses, that could see the Red Devils gain some instant cash, at the expense of potentially fruitful long-term earnings.
With the club in danger of failing the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR), this summer’s transfer market will see the club limited on how much they can spend.
This will be awful news for Amorim, who will be hoping for a number of reinforcements to adapt his squad into one that is more capable of playing his style of football.
