Man United cost of sacking Erik ten Hag revealed – sources
It will cost Man United over £10million if they choose to sack Erik ten Hag and his backroom staff this season, sources have told Football Insider.
The Dutchman finds himself under huge pressure after United’s 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Monday evening.
The Red Devils have now lost 13 Premier League games this season – the most in the club’s history.
It is understood that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are currently assessing Ten Hag’s managerial position at the club following their takeover of sporting control at Old Trafford.
As revealed by Football Insider, Ten Hag is set to be sacked by Man United at the end of the season even if they beat Man City to win the FA Cup.
Sources have told Football Insider that sacking the 54-year-old would cost upwards of £10million in compensation to Ten Hag and his backroom staff.
Erik Ten Hag sack will cost Man United over £10million
Ten Hag has a contract at United until 2025 with an option to extend for a further year.
United are already close to their limit under Profit and Sustainability Rules with the club expected to have a small budget over the summer transfer window.
If Ten Hag was sacked before June 30, the costs would be added to the club’s PSR calculations for the 2023-24 financial period.
If Ratcliffe chooses to sack Ten Hag this season, it could force United into making sales before the June cut-off date to ensure they comply with financial regulations.

United currently sit eighth in the Premier League table with three games remaining this season.
However, Ten Hag could still end an underwhelming campaign with silverware when his side face rivals Man City in the FA Cup final on May 25.
