Man United could land Harry Kane for ‘£10m’ after Tottenham source’s reveal – expert

Tottenham may be forced to sell Harry Kane for “£10million” in January.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie said Spurs should be “biting the hand off” any club willing to pay up for Kane this summer.

Man United have been eyeing up a move for the 29-year-old who is entering the final year of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But according to the Daily Star (27 June), Erik ten Hag won’t be able to spend more than £100m in the upcoming window, unless he ships players out.

Spurs have already rejected a £60m-plus bid for Kane from Bayern Munich and are adamant that the England international is not for sale, despite the possibility of losing him for free.

Football Insider revealed (26 June), that United are now pessimistic about the prospect of landing their top striker target this summer given the difficulty of getting a deal over the line.

McAvennie suggested Spurs could offload their star striker in January on the cheap.

If he stays they will probably want to sell him for £10m in January or something just to get something back for him,” he told Football Insider.

They would want something for him.

If somebody is willing to pay £80m or £90m [this summer] for a nearly 30-year-old striker, I would bite the hand off them.
