Man United could seal three more ‘brilliant’ appointments after source’s Erik ten Hag update – Campbell
Kevin Campbell has claimed “it would be a brilliant move” if Man United appointed Steve McClaren and Robin van Persie as part of Erik ten Hag’s backroom staff.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said the duo’s previous success at Old Trafford would stand them in good stead next season.
A United source told this site (11 April) that the Red Devils are set to trigger Erik ten Hag’s release clause at Ajax.

The club have decided to make the 52-year-old their new permanent manager and an announcement could be made as soon as next week.
According to The Times‘ Paul Hirst (12 April), Ten Hag wants to bring his assistant Mitchell van der Gaag with him to Old Trafford.
He is also said to be considering adding ex-Man United employees Steve McClaren and Robin van Persie to his backroom staff.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts of the potential appointments, Campbell said:
“It would be a smart move because both of them know the club inside out.
“Ten Hag knows what McClaren is about. They’ve been successful. They know.

“Van Persie had great success at Man United. Getting people in who know the club and know what’s required to be successful is important.
“I think it would be a brilliant move, if I’m honest. I can see it happening.”
In other news, a pundit has claimed Ralf Rangnick still has ‘big’ role to play at Man United after source’s Erik ten Hag update.
