Kieran Maguire: Man United will be 'delighted' after 'big' sponsor reveal
It will be a “big relief” to Man United that the sponsorship industry appears to be holding up throughout the pandemic.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about United’s vast network of commercial sponsors.
The European Sponsorship Association revealed on Thursday (20 January) that market confidence is high despite concerns over the Omicron variant.
United have 23 global partners and recently signed a renewal with personal care brand Remington.
Adidas, TeamViewer and Cadbury are among the Old Trafford club’s partners who contributed to commercial revenues of £232.2m for 2020-21.
A United spokesperson told this site on Wednesday (19 January) that their business operation is still “globally recognised” and “industry-leading”.

Maguire expanded on football’s role throughout the pandemic and United’s status as a commercial juggernaut.
“It will be a big relief to United to hear that there is confidence in the industry,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“The one thing that binds many people together in a very fractured world is live sport, and United deliver eyeballs.
“Increased interest means more money coming from the commercial sponsorship industry and also from broadcasters.
“Everybody is delighted is that people are still watching football with the same degree of passion.
“Over the pandemic, it has proven to be a pleasant diversion from the incompetence of politicians and regular doom-laden news bulletins.“
On the pitch, United are up into 4th after their win over West Ham yesterday (22 January).
Their next league match is against relegation struggles Burnley after the winter break.
