Man United fans ‘ashamed’ by what’s happened to Marcus Rashford

Man United fans were forced to endure a trend that has become worryingly common for the club after Marcus Rashford’s performance for Barcelona.

The English winger became a part of Man United’s bomb squad this summer alongside the likes of Antony and Jadon Sancho after returning from his loan spell at Aston Villa.

Having been left out in the cold by Ruben Amorim, Rashford managed to secure a loan move to Barcelona, escaping the scrutiny that has plagued him during the latter stages of his career as a Red Devil.

The winger has endured a slow start to life in Catalonia, but he provided his first assist for the club in a 6-0 demolition against Valencia on Sunday, 14 September.

And on his return to England to face Newcastle in the Champions League, United fans were forced to watch in anguish as a predictable storyline played out before them.

Man United fans rage as Marcus Rashford runs riot

Barcelona secured a 2-1 win against Newcastle, and wouldn’t you know it, both goals were scored by Rashford.

The opener was a smartly taken header, but it was his second strike that really had United in agony, as the England international powered home a divine effort from outside the box.

Rashford now holds company with the likes of Antony, Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga, and so many more who have completely turned around their careers after leaving United.

Reacting to the 27-year-old’s player of the match performance, one fan said: “Rashford again thriving away from Manchester United. Let’s be honest, we can’t shy away from the fact that something may be wrong at Manchester United if our players keep shining elsewhere.”

Another fan added: “Manchester United chased away Rashford to satisfy a man that can’t win back to back games. We should be ashamed of ourselves.”

Another chimed in by saying: “Rashford proving once again Manchester United is the problem”.

Marcus Rashford masterclass proves Ruben Amorim wrong

This summer, United went all in on Amorim. The club spent exorbitant amounts on the trio of Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, and Bryan Mbeumo.

However, the more concerning aspect of the recruitment process was the decision to discard valuable academy graduates for a fraction of their worth.

Alejandro Garnacho, upset at his lack of involvement in the Europa League final (and rightly so), was sold for £40million [Sky Sports] to Chelsea, whilst United failed to even fetch a fee for Rashford.

And surprise, surprise, the Englishman dominated Newcastle, whilst the Argentine looked a threat on his debut for the Blues.

If ever there was a time to admit your faults and return Rashford to Manchester, now should be the time to do it.
