Man United fans will be delighted with new Viktor Gyokeres transfer developments

Viktor Gyokeres’ chances of following Ruben Amorim to Man United look to be growing after new developments which will please the club’s fans.

The Portuguese boos has just started work after replacing Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford and the outstanding ex-Coventry forward is unsurprisingly being linked as a transfer target.

As the manager began in Manchester a club scout was keeping a close eye on Gyokeres during Sweden’s 2-1 Nations League win over Slovakia on Saturday (17 November), according to The Sun.

The 26-year-old striker, currently playing for Sporting Lisbon, scored his fifth goal of the Nations League campaign in the third minute, continuing his impressive form.

United sent talent spotter Sergio Souza to watch the game, and Gyokeres’ early strike will have done nothing to put the Premier League representative off, as a standout season for the former Coventry star continued.

With 23 goals this season for Sporting, including 16 in the Primeira Liga and 5 in the Champions League, Gyokeres has caught the attention of several top European clubs.

Man United eye up a future Sporting Lisbon transfer deal

United are exploring the possibility of bringing Viktor Gyokeres to Old Trafford, with a potential reunion with Amorim in mind.

Gyokeres’ prolific form this season, including his early goals, could be the key to securing a move as United look to bolster their attack and address ongoing scoring issues.

His strong performances at Sporting have put him on United’s radar, making him an enticing option for the club’s future plans.

Manchester United’s potential pursuit of Gyokeres comes as the club grapples with an offensive slump. The team is currently the fifth-lowest scoring side in the Premier League, with only twelve goals this season.

Rasmus Hojlund plays for Man United
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are struggling at Man United.

Last season’s summer signing Rasmus Hojlund has managed just one goal in seven league appearances, and his fellow Red Devil’s striker Joshua Zirkzee has struggled for form with only one goal himself this season, leaving United desperately in need of a reliable scorer.

Gyokeres suits Amorim’s style of play with his dynamic and versatile attacking abilities, as proven in Portugal.

The 39-year-old coach’s 3-4-3 system relies on quick transitions, high pressing, and creating space in wide areas, all of which align with the Swede’s strengths.
