Man United news: Cristiano Ronaldo exit claim issued after ‘huge’ update from Spain – pundit
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Man United future will hinge on who replaces Ralf Rangnick in the Old Trafford hot seat, according to Kevin Phillips.
The former Sunderland striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 37-year-old could become “upset” if not given a starring role under a potential new boss.
According to Spanish outlet AS (17 March), Ronaldo has decided to fulfil his contract with Man United – which runs until 2023.

The report claims the Portugal icon is “confident” that the Red Devils’ choice of replacement for Rangnick will lift them back into Premier League and Champions League contention.
Sky Sports reported on Thursday (24 March) Man United held “positive” talks with Ajax boss Erik ten Hag last week – but other candidates are also said to be in the frame.
When asked if Ronaldo could change his stance if the new manager refuses to give him a starring role, Phillips told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “Yeah, possibly.
“You always say that no one is bigger than the football club, but perhaps there’s an exception when you’re talking about him and Messi – because he’s a huge draw.
“He’s made it quite clear that he gets upset when he’s not playing, as we’ve seen this season. And when Ronaldo gets upset, people listen.
“He’s a huge figure, and it’ll be interesting to see whether he wants to move on. He’ll have a keen eye on who comes in as manager, and that could really make up his mind on whether he wants to leave.”

Football Insider revealed last week (23 March) Porto are monitoring Ronaldo’s situation ahead of the summer window.
The Portuguese giants could make a sensational move to return the striker to his homeland if given encouragement.
