Man United news: 'Incredible' Cristiano Ronaldo claim after footage emerges - pundit

Alan Hutton has insisted Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Man United will be determined by incoming manager Erik ten Hag.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland international suggested the “incredible” 37-year-old wants to remain at Old Trafford past this summer.

In a video relayed by Sky Sports on Twitter (3 May), Ronaldo appears to say: ‘I’m not finished’ to the camera after Monday’s 3-0 win over Brentford.

Ronaldo scored against the Bees and celebrated by pointing to himself and then at the Old Trafford pitch.

As revealed by Football Insider in March, Man United chiefs expect the Portuguese star to leave on a free this summer.

Porto are plotting a sensational move that could see Ronaldo make a romantic return to his homeland.

However, Hutton suggested the only way Ronaldo would leave is if pushed by Ten Hag.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “There’s been a lot of noise in the media, talking about Ten Hag coming in. How his philosophy won’t suit Ronaldo.

“But look at his stats recently. I think it’s eight of their last 10 goals Ronaldo has scored, which is incredible. He’s one of those guys that has looked after himself, his body, forever.

“He’s actually probably in the body of a 28, 29-year-old. Yes, he has probably lost a little bit of pace.

“But when he plays that number nine role and is fed the ball, he will put the ball in the back of the net.

“There are question marks about this high press and things, can he do that? But, as he said, he is not finished yet. He’s willing to give it a crack.

“It’s all down to the new manager. We obviously know Ronaldo’s thoughts.”
